Urad Dal Ladoo Recipe / Ulundu Ladoo Recipe


I am finishing my diwali posts with this ladoo..This is a healthy ladoos which is made with urad dal flour and karupatti. Since this has no sugar and karupatti is the sweetner it is really healthy. You can skip karupattai and add jaggery as well. I hope you will try this out and let me know how it turns out for you..


Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 15 mins
Makes : 10 to 12 ladoos

Ingredients:

Urad Dal Flour - 1 cup
Karupatti / Palm Sugar - 1/2 cup grated (U can use Jaggery / Gur)
Ghee - 3 tblspn
Cashewnuts - 2 tblspn chopped finely
Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp

Method:

Take karupatti in a sauce pan and add just 2 tblspn of water. Mix well. Heat on a low heat till it is warm and the karupatti is melted. Strain it and set aside.

Now heat 3 tblspn of ghee in a kadai. Add in cashews and fry till golden. Remove and set aside.

In the remaining ghee add the flour and fry on low heat for 5 to 7 mins till the raw smell leaves from it..

Now remove it from heat and add in cardamom powder.

Add in the strained syrup to the flour and mix well. Add syrup till the mix turns little wet enough to form ladoos.

Add in cashews and mix well.

Now let it cool a bit and take a healthy portion from it. Shape it into tight ladoos.

Serve.

Add in broken cashews in hot ghee


fry till golden


remove it to a bowl


Take karupatti in a sauce pan


add very little water


heat till the karupatti is melted


now everything is melted


strain it


this is going to be our sweetner


Now in the remaining ghee


add in urad dal flour


roast it well


keep roasting till it gets nice colour..take it off the heat


add in cardamom powder


pour in karpatti liquid


mix well


add in fried nuts


mix


take a healthy portion of this


shape into tight ladoos


enjoy
